The Dr. had told us his poop might be “liquid, loud, small, large, foamy, leaky, non-existent or explosive. And all are normal.”
Of course on our first night home, we’d forgotten that he’d told us that and we were frightened by the 4 large, black, explosive poops in the middle of the night. Frightened not only for Max and his health but WAS THIS REALLY OUR NEW LIFE? Was this REALLY how our nights would be spent from now on?
I mean yes, we’d been told we’d change a lot of diapers and have sleepless nights, but no one mentioned he’d poop his own body weight in one night! Three outfits and several pads were covered in poop before the sun came up and we were exhausted!
Thank goodness this only happened on the first night. I was worried we’d have to put him to bed in his baby tub at night and just run in and hose him down every hour.
Now, he sleeps so well at night that we have to wake HIM up to feed. Knock on wood – I hope it lasts. I’m actually getting more sleep now than I did those last few months of pregnancy.
