It’s official. Max had his first job. Here he is on the Warner Bros. lot outside of his trailer.
He looks really unimpressed with the entertainment industry so far, doesn’t he? The look on his face is like, This is what you guys do for a living? A lot of sitting around in a trailer and you call this “work”?

As you know, I live with Sitting Bull. Here at the house we call him Joe. Or Dad.
He recently worked on the fun Mountain Dew / Call of Duty campaign: Buy some Dew and earn XP points. McG directed. You might know McG’s work from “Charlie’s Angels”. Not the recent TV show that was cancelled, but the fun Charlie’s Angels films that Drew Barrymore starred in – or any of his many other projects.
A couple other ex-military boys were on the shoot too. Looks like they had fun and I’m just a wee bit jealous. I love putting on the gear and playing military with the boys!
The commercial is airing so maybe you’ve already seen it. If not – I got you a copy right here:
Oh, and here’s some behind the scenes footage. In case you are interested in the long, boring part of all that goes into the making of commercials. It’s 20 minutes long, so grab a brewski and settle in. Or you can jump to 11:05 – and watch Sitting Bull give his two cents:
Now that there is a baby in the house, some days are filled with chaos. If the baby is crying it just makes anything else going on, seem even more dramatic. The baby crying, with the phone ringing, and the dog barking…
Recently my neighbor stopped by with some cake they had left over from a birthday celebration. Just as she knocked on the door, the dogs went crazy, I was on the phone and Max started crying. When I answered the door, my hair was probably a mess and baby-spit up all over my shirt. No, I didn’t invite her in. If I had, she probably would have run for the hills.
But then there are times when all seems right. When everything is calm. The tone is really up to the baby. If baby is happy. Everyone at home is happy.
As you know, I love pumpkins. The more unique the better. So over the weekend, when we had some unexpected free time, we decided to road trip it up to a pumpkin patch about 45 minutes north of Los Angeles. And it was Max’s first pumpkin patch!
They were only open until 6pm and we arrived around 4:30pm. Perfect timing because by that time of day, half the place was in the shade. Plus there was probably half as many people. I don’t know about you, but I’m just not up for big crowds. I refuse to shop for groceries or anything on the weekends in Los Angeles. I’d rather go on a Monday at noon. Plus then I can grab my free coffe or food sample without waiting for some slow poke with a million questions to get out of my way! And that’s how I like my pumpkin patch too – free of crowds.
I can’t wait until Max is old enough to pick out his own pumpkin, run around the corn maze, hit the petting zoo and beg for a train ride. Until then, we at least snapped some photos of him having his first pumpkin patch adventure. We had him test out a few up close.

This was my favorite pumpkin – the stem was longer than the pumpkin!

This weekend we are also hoping to hit the same pumpkin patch we went to last year – but this time with some friends! It just depends on our work schedules on whether or not we’ll make it out. Yup, I sure do love pumpkins.

When Max first started to smile, we had a new mission: get Max to smile often. Then when he started to laugh, that was our new obsession: finding out what makes Max laugh!
On this particular day, it was the little orange fishy toy that was crackin’ him up!
