I’ve seen this posted several times on Facebook. And everytime I do, it makes me giggle.
Oh Pixie and Stella. They’ve made it through the first year of Max. With all the changes and those sleepless nights in the beginning. I wonder how much they understand that there is about to be a Round 2.
What do Joaquin Phoenix, Charlie Kaufman and Spike Jonze have in common? They are making a film together. AND, they need a pregnant woman for a small role. WHAT? A PREGNANT role in Hollywood? Yippee! That’s exciting since I’ve been pregnant for three years now. Yes, three.
I met with the casting director and discussed the role where I would be doing a scene with Joaquin. However, in our conversation, we realized that with film not starting for another 10 days, the film date of my role wouldn’t happen until one day AFTER my c-section. Bummer.
And you know what? You’d think that they would be limited in their search. Right? I mean, how many pregnant actresses could their possibly be in Hollywood to choose from? Maybe they’ll have to re-do their filming schedule, start tomorrow, and fit me in before my c-section. Ha ha. Yeah, right. There’s probably 1,000 actresses ready, willing, able… AND pregnant. That look just like me. And will do the role for less. That’s Hollywood for ya.
More than a few friends have asked me why they weren’t invited to Max’s Birthday Party. While very sweet to know they would have wanted to come, we only invited friends with kids. We kept it small. Only inviting seven couples. And we kept it short. Only two hours of fun (in between his naps). The house felt plenty full and filled with chaos with all the kids running around!
I’d made a slide show of Max for the party and planned to show it before the cake and birthday song. But with all the chaos and things going on, I sorta forgot and showed it to just a few. I’m just glad I at least remembered to bring out the cake!
Here’s the slide show I made of Max’s first year. It has videos within the video so it’s best watched in full screen. Isn’t it fun how quickly they go from little raisin to little monkey?
Max is one. One whole year already. He’s walking. He’s drinking from a sippy cup. Soon he’ll be driving.
We had a few friends come by over the weekend and bring their kids for Max to have some fun play time and celebrate this big milestone.
I had a big cake for all the adults and kids. And one little cake just for Max. He had a lot to say about it. With some big hand gestures to boot.
