I’m confused as to when they use this. For times when you go into the fitting room without clothes to try on, but you want to… read a book? Have a smoke? Stare at yourself in the mirror? Get some knitting done?

When you move into a new place, you never know what kind of neighbors it comes with until you’ve lived there for awhile. If only the ads had to describe the neighbors as well as the house. 3 Bedroom House for Sale. Neighbor on the left stops by to borrow tools all the time and never returns them until you ask at least four times.
But, like my father jokingly said: Everyone has that one annoying neighbor and if you don’t have one, then you’re it.
We have our annoying neighbor and we also have one fantastic neighbor! They are an older couple with two grown children and just as sweet as one could ask for, stopping by with avacados from their tree, a yummy treat to share or flowers from their yard.

Most people don’t take the time to do things like that and I know it’s always talked about how ‘way back when’ people use to be more neighborly within their community.
I think we are still neighborly, but within our electronic communities. We’ve built our own little communities with facebook, twitter, work and families, making the community or neighborhood where we live, eat and sleep in, take a back seat. Plus, I know you’re thinking, who has time for face to face?
I stopped by my fantastic neighbor’s home the other day to return the gesture and she invited me in for tea. Usually I’m one of those who decline such offers, feeling rushed to get on with my day, but I decided to take her offer. Because, I DID actually have the time. No one was going to die, including me, if I didn’t return a phone call immediately or finish all my errands for the day. And it felt good to just sit, share a cup of tea and chat about what was going on in our lives at the moment. And it only took about 20 minutes. Who doesn’t have 20 minutes?
This is where calmness prevails. Pixie’s favorite place to be is in a hoodie. Even when she is at her most rambunctious, once she is scooped up and zipped up into one of our hoodies, she just melts into contentment. And no, this is not me in the pic! You thought that was my hairy chest?

You think a dog’s life is easy? Well, you won’t think so after watching this video. Just laying down in a doggie bed is complicated stuff! Everything has to be right. Temperature, angle, timing… and who knows what else!
It’s December 9th and the autumn color is still around here in Los Angeles. I’ve mentioned before how autumn lasts a long time here. Do you believe me now? The trees are still working on losing their leaves AND my red roses are still blooming. We definitely won’t be having a white Christmas, but all this green and red is still holiday colors… and is better than 6 months of Minnesota snow to me!
