Bucket head

One of Max’s latest things is to put this little red bucket on and off Sarah’s head. If it falls off while it should be on, “Oh no!” he’ll exclaim, and quickly place it back on her head. It’s super cute and funny unless he first clumsily slams it into her face as he’s trying to put it on her. Or if the yellow handle gets wrapped around her chin as he tries to yank it off.

But I try to let them interact freely. As much as possible. And like we had to teach Max to be gentle with the dogs, we also have to remind Max not to slam books, toys and other miscellaneous objects on to her head.

It’s a toddler thing, right? We won’t still be dealing with this when they are teenagers? Or will we…
