Remember I told you that we all went on an audition together?  Well, we went on two auditions together and we booked one!  Joe, Max and I all booked on the same commercial together!  Isn’t that fun?

We shot our scenes this week.  All at the same location, but I’m in a different spot than Joe and Max.

Max did awesome!  He was so cute and had so much fun.  He loves an adventure!  Hopefully we all make the cut and the commercials air for a long, long time.

I’ll tell you all about it once it airs.  But until then, it’s top secret.  Seriously.  It seems every production company these days wants you to sign a non-disclosure agreement.  And on this commercial, we didn’t even know what the product was until we got to set!

I guess I could tell you, but then I’d have to kill you.

Honda Commercial

A couple months ago, when I first told you that Max, Joe and I all booked on a commercial, I couldn’t tell you much about it.

Well, here it is.  It’s on the air so maybe you’ve already seen it. You’ll see Joe chasing down Max who is running with a set of keys. And you’ll see me in a Honda and getting out of a Honda.

The shoot day was especially fun since it was Max’s first national commercial!

My call time to set was after Max and Joe’s because I was in a different shot.  But they ended up calling me in early so I could be there for Max’s shoot too!  They did that because Max would be running holding a set of keys and they wanted Joe and I each at one end of the house calling his name to get him to run back and forth.

I was so happy they did that because I was going in early anyway just hoping to catch a GLIMPSE of Max at work, and this way I got to be a PART of it!  Max loved doing the commercial.  It was just a big adventure play time to him.

The funny part was that he didn’t run super fast like he does at home.  He ran cautiously.  I think it was the combination of it being a new place.  And of course all those people and cameras following him around.

Terrence who?

I got a call to audition for a feature film when Sarah was just 3 weeks old.  I asked the casting director, “You want me to what?  Leave the house?  I don’t remember how to do that…”

I’d just spent the last three weeks at home recovering from the c-section and feeding Sarah around the clock so forget that it was for an interesting project. I was just excited to leave the house!  Alone.  Able to use both hands at once.  I felt so free on the drive there.  I felt like shouting “Look Ma, both hands! I have BOTH hands to use AT ONCE!”  And no one needs me to change their diaper, or feed them, or make them lunch, or read them a story, or… oh my goodness THIS is what it’s like to be single and childless… aaand still searching for Mr. Right.  To hook-up with.  And start a family.  Ha!

Having been pregnant since 2010 (first Max and then Sarah), I really hadn’t paid much attention to Hollywood.  Or was it more that Hollywood hadn’t paid much attention to me?  It seems that no one in this town wants to hire a pregnant woman!

So when the casting director was explaining to me that I should be excited about this audition/project because Terrence Malick was directing, I said “Who?”

I had no idea who she was talking about. Maybe I’d have understood if she’d said it in baby talk? “T” is for Terrence and “M” is for…

And the reason to be excited, I was told, was because Terrence directed Oscar nominated “The Tree of Life” with Brad Pitt and Sean Penn.

But you see, this year, I don’t even remember the Oscar’s happening. I’m sure I was measuring my once again growing belly from Sarah, changing Max’s diaper, getting spit up on, doing laundry, making a bottle… all at the same time.

And the year before? I spent the Oscars having a baby shower.  Literally, ON the day of the Oscar’s I had my baby shower for Max in 2011.

The Oscar’s before all these babies?

Now you ask, “Did you book the part in the film?”  Why, thanks for asking.  Yes, yes I did. And that’s all I can tell you about it for now. Like I’ve said before, they make everyone sign confidentiality agreements these days. Mums the word until the film is out and by then you’ll know for yourself if I made the cut or not.

We all have diaper rash

Max started to come down with a little something last Thursday.  The only way we knew was because he pooped four times that day instead of his usual one or two.

Then Friday, same thing.  Only by Friday he also had diaper rash.  Wow does that come on quickly!

Since then he’s been running around naked while we chase him cleaning up pee and poo.  Doctors orders.  That’s how you get rid of diaper rash best.  You air it out.

So we are all suffering a little due to diaper rash.  We can’t put max in his play area or bouncer or walker or anything really while he’s naked because the pee will get all over whatever he’s in.

I think Max is loving this time.  He now gets to do just what he always wants to do — crawl around the whole house and explore everything while we chase him cleaning up any messes along the way.

It’s very time consuming to be constantly following around his cute little baby butt.  But it’s good practice for when he’s walking because then too we’ll be constantly chasing and watching.

And that time is coming soon.  Very soon.
