Organic, period.

Everyone lately wants organic this and organic that. Food, clothing, baby products, toys. The most important one of those is food, because we actually put it IN our bodies.

So when I heard about TrueMoon, organic tampons, I thought Right, why am I not using organic tampons? That’s something I put IN my body too!

I guess I was just a creature of habit – buying the same old thing I had for years, and never thought about it. Plus when I’m standing there in the aisle choosing a tampon, there aren’t any organic options like there is when you grocery shop. Organic tampons aren’t offered at stores like Target or your local drug store. Why is that? I don’t know.  And apparently the question is being asked by others because I found this article on the very subject.

For some people, talking about tampons and periods and (and oh gosh, please don’t use the the word menstruating!) can be an embarrassing thing. But that is one of the very things that TrueMoon wants to change.  They want women to be proud of their cycles.  It’s part of what makes us women!  It’s how we are able to create a new life, a full new human being, inside of us!  How cool is that?

And, for young girls getting their first period, it’s key that they see it that way, rather than some dreaded, embarrassing thing.  It should be empowering.

You can buy TrueMoon organic tampons here on Amazon and hopefully someday in every aisle of tampons you shop.

Here’s a video the founders of TrueMoon made on why organic tampons are important for women:

And here’s a funny video they made on how ridiculous it is for women (or men) to be embarrassed by one of the very fundamental things that makes them a woman:
