Welcome home

Pixie LOVES Joe and she can get REALLY excited when he comes home. On this night, Joe just wanteded to sit and unwind with a glass of wine. But Pixie wanted more, more, more! She was just bursting with love to give.

A drooling pumpkin

I’m really not a Halloween girl. And Joe’s not into it either. I guess you could say we are to Halloween what Scrooge is to Christmas.  No, ok, I wouldn’t go that far.  Maybe I’m just lazy when it comes to the whole costume thing.

I did however dress up this year.  I did it for Max.  Not that he understood what was going on at all.  It’s not like he knew why I was dressed like an angel or why people kept ringing the doorbell and why we kept giving them candy every time they did.

And umm, can you explain to me WHY we hand out candy on Halloween?  It’s sort of like getting candy from a bunny on Easter.  Not really what the holiday was intended to focus on.  And if Halloween is supposed to be a celebration of the dead… umm, why again do we hand out candy?

Thank goodness Joe and I both feel the same way about Halloween. Can you imagine if one of us was TOTALLY INTO it and the other one wasn’t?  Oh, just think of all the ridiculous arguements that could come from THAT!

But we did the Halloween thing.  And I do have to admit, Max makes a pretty cute pumpkin.  And you know how I love my pumpkins.

Bam Bam

I told you before how Max was strong from day 1.  But now for the last couple months we’ve noticed we can really make out his delts and other muscles.  Dude looks like he already hits the gym.  He gets it from his Dad.  I’ll have to find that pic of Joe as a little kid with already sculpted arms and show you what I’m talking about.  So jealous.

Tis the season

It has begun.  Pumpkin fever.  I’ve told you before, I like to find the unique pumpkins!  The more odd or different the better.  This one is currently our dining room center piece.  Well, sort of.  It’s usually snuggled in between Max’s car seat and his lamb chair.  And some toys. What?  That’s what dining room tables are for, right?

Bringing home the bacon

Today is Joe’s Birthday. Happy Birthday, Joe!

Sunday I took him on a mini-road-trip out to this restaurant that is sort of in the forest and among the mountains. I took him for brunch because he loves breakfast food.  Especially bacon.  Which is why I also bought him some bacon/pancake flavored cupcakes.  Yup, that is REAL bacon.
