Honda Commercial

A couple months ago, when I first told you that Max, Joe and I all booked on a commercial, I couldn’t tell you much about it.

Well, here it is.  It’s on the air so maybe you’ve already seen it. You’ll see Joe chasing down Max who is running with a set of keys. And you’ll see me in a Honda and getting out of a Honda.

The shoot day was especially fun since it was Max’s first national commercial!

My call time to set was after Max and Joe’s because I was in a different shot.  But they ended up calling me in early so I could be there for Max’s shoot too!  They did that because Max would be running holding a set of keys and they wanted Joe and I each at one end of the house calling his name to get him to run back and forth.

I was so happy they did that because I was going in early anyway just hoping to catch a GLIMPSE of Max at work, and this way I got to be a PART of it!  Max loved doing the commercial.  It was just a big adventure play time to him.

The funny part was that he didn’t run super fast like he does at home.  He ran cautiously.  I think it was the combination of it being a new place.  And of course all those people and cameras following him around.

Do as I say, Not as I do

“Do as I say, not as I do!”  Everyone knows that doesn’t work.

Kids learn how to BE by observing what you DO.

Max is currently learning how to play with Pixie and Stella.  He thinks they are hilarious.  The very mention of their names used to throw him into hysterics.  Calling out “Pixie!” and “Stella!” was a great way to entertain and distract him from his NOT SO WANTED diaper changes when he was younger.  (I say “younger”!  How much younger can you get than 17 months?  Well, about 16 months and 29 days I guess.)

Max liked to grab Stella’s long hair and often ends up with a handful of it.  Ouch!!  Stella just sort of winces and stands there or walks away.

And for awhile Max thought throwing books at them was funny.  He liked to watch them scurry away.  We had to repeatedly say “gentle” while he played with or pet them.

We also had to show him what “gentle” meant.  By doing it ourselves AS we said the word.

Pretty simple.  They’ll know what to do if you ‘just do it’ yourself.

iphone home

I finally broke down and traded in my forever problematic blackberry for an iphone.

Yes, my iphone is pretty, simple to use and works seamlessly with my Mac computers.

BUT, I really miss being the fastest texter this side of the Mississippi. Now I’m a one finger, typo, typo, delete, delete.

If only I could mix and match the Blackberry keyboard with everything else about the iphone.

Like it’s awesome camera capabilities.  I’m taking waaay more pictures than before because, well, I always have my phone on me.  Now, THAT is something I’m having fun with… and it’s worth losing my ‘fastest texter’ title.

Clint’s chair

Clint can’t do wrong.  He just can’t.  He’s Clint.

He didn’t sway me to vote for Mitt.  But maybe he didn’t want to.

I love all the controversy over his speech for Mitt.  Or was it for Obama?  I mean, when you have that much controversy, whose to say that speech wasn’t intentionally meant to hurt rather than help Mitt?  Hmmm?

I give Clint an A+ for creativity and originality.  And that’s what he knows best.  It’s required in his line of work.  What?  Would you have preferred the same old speech delivery?  Clint standing there, reading what someone else wrote, from a teleprompter?

Clint just got up there and went with it.  Let’s see YOU try that.  And at the same time be funny, creative, entertaining AND get your point across to a live audience on national television.  Yeah, I thought so.

I love Obama’s response: “I’m a huge Clint Eastwood fan.”  Spoken like a true pro.

And if there’s one thing Clint knows best from being in Entertainment.  ANY publicity, is GOOD publicity.

Autumn egg

My favorite season is Autumn.  Yes, we have one here in Los Angeles!

For me, the first day of Autumn is when I feel that shift in the sun, the light it casts across the earth and in me.  Yesterday was that day.

This morning, even my hard boiled egg was showing signs of the season.  Does that not look like the shape of a leaf to you?

Remember scared banana?  And the orange heart?  Why I notice shapes in my food, I have no idea.

An even bigger question is, How did I find time to take a picture of my egg this morning?  And post about it here for you?  Again, I have no idea.

I’d just finished making Max his breakfast and was breastfeeding Sarah while I took the picture.  (I do a lot of things while breastfeeding these days. A mommy multitasking must!)

And while I type this, I’m holding Sarah and bouncing up and down to keep her happy.

Now I have to go because I’ve scheduled my shower time for 10:00am (also Max’s nap time) and don’t want to miss it!
